In the Hazelton area, there are many events that celebrate the various aspects of the Northern British Columbian culture. Although the small communities host the events, they attract thousands upon thousands of worldwide travelers every year.

Kispiox Valley Music Festival

Gitanmaax Cultural Days
At the ‘Ksan Historical Village, the Mauritanian Cultural Days bring together local and regional First Nations and non-First Nations. The event includes many dance performances and various light-hearted competitions such as soapberry ice cream making. This event takes place the third weekend in August.
Canada Day
Canada Day is our biggest celebration of the year. All of the Hazeltons gather together for a pancake breakfast, kid’s games, parade, music and a soapbox derby. There is fun to be had by everyone. In the recent years, it has been hosted in Allen Park.

Kispiox Valley Rodeo
A community rodeo event hosted every year. As a non-profit organization, they aim to host a spectacular show annually. If you’re looking for an old-fashioned rodeo, look no further. The events contains dances, bull riding, barrel racing, bareback riding, and more.
Pioneer Day
Pioneer Day is hosted in the Village of Hazelton each August to celebrate our towns’ heritage. There are parades, wagon rides, vendors and kid’s activities.
